The Path To Better Mixes Pt 2

Instructional workshop: 2 hours continuing to focus on the use and operation of plugins in certain situations and the methods of macro to micro mixing.

• Vocal and midrange relationship - Vox and synth, Vox and guitar & bass etc.
• EQ Q factors and variations of EQ types
• Plugins and parameters - what you need to know to know how to use your plugins correctly and what each function does and means.
• Character plugins VS clean plugins - What does it mean for a plugin to add character. Sound colouration and light saturation/harmonic distortion.
• Types of audio plugins - What, when, where, and why you use certain plugins.
• Training and using your ears is far more important than using the visual features of your plugins.
• Intro to Automation (There will be a follow up class that focuses solely on Automation and its uses)
• 3 macro and 3 micro mixes, this is good practice and helps you test different methods of reaching your goal in your mix.

There will be a 30 minute Q & A afterwards.
